Our Story

The Downtown Popcorn Company is a locally
owned and operated business. In 2008, Judy Bolin, a retired teacher and formed owner of  The Class Menagerie, purchased the business from Meridith and Jon Fulton.  That's when the name changed from M J Fulton Popcorn Company to Downtown Popcorn Company.  As the business kept growing and more space was needed,  Downtown Popcorn expanded and took over the whole building  with a new entrance on Jefferson.   We are now more visible on main street and have ample parking for our customers' convenience.   Downtown Popcorn Company is a truly  appropriate name now.

The history of selling  gourmet popcorn in the downtown business district does not begin there.  The equipment used is the same equipment used by the former Popcorn Eats and Treats which was located on the corner of Banker and Jefferson.  This equipment  was located in storage, and the smell of fresh popcorn once more filled the air downtown.  These machines have a long history and the Downtown Popcorn Company is dedicated to producing a quality product and carrying on this tradition enjoyed by our customers.
